Zine FAQ

Q: What is a zine?

A: a zine is a collection of art that is organized similarly to a magazine! Most zines are arranged to print and fold, but many of ours end up too large to do so, so they're set up PDF style!

Q: What is the theme of this zine?

A: Coven of the Eternal Blood is an original zine that is heavily inspired by Victorian Era France. (1837-1901 roughly)

Q: I’ve never participated in a zine, can I apply?

A: Of course you can! Everyone is welcome to apply and has an equal chance! And if you're rejected, don't feel disheartened! Just keep trying your best!

Q: How historically accurate will this zine be?

A: This zine will be “inspired” by Victorian Era France so we’re not going to be too strict about historical accuracy!

Q: Is this zine solely original or are fandom characters allowed?

A: Fandom characters are not allowed in this zine. This zine is original work only. (which can include original characters created by the contributors.)

Q: How many artists are working on this zine?

A: We are currently looking to accept 60 artists and 10-15 writers (depending on how many writers apply)

Q: How old do I have to be to apply?

A: We ask that all who apply are at least 16 due to the nature of some of the content that will be included in this zine.

Q: Can I apply as both a writer and an artist?

A: Yes of course you can! If you get accepted as both, we will reach out to let you know!

Q: Is there a word count for writing samples in the application?

A: The word count for writing samples is 500-700 words!

Q: Can our writing samples be fanart/fan fiction?

A: Yes they can be! But please be sure they're not NSFW

Q: Do our art/writing samples have to feature vampires?

A: Vampire themed writing/art is not required for your samples! But we highly encourage it because it can give us a good idea of what your work may look like for the zine!

Q: What kind of content is NOT allowed in this zine?

A: This zine will not allow any NSFW content. (minor blood and vampiric themes are allowed though as long as they're appropriate for a 16+ audience)We want to keep the zine rated PG-13 or the equivalent.

Q: Do I have to do character work? Or are there other types of work I can do in the zine?

A: You do not have to only do character work! You are also welcome to draw scenery, props, food, and other things that fit the theme of the zine! We do not want to limit anyones creativity so we're leaving it open for options!

Q: How will I know if i'm accepted?

A: once applications close, be on the lookout for an email from [email protected] to see if you got accepted/rejected! Be sure to check your spam folder in your emails just in case it didn't make its way to your primary email folder! We will be sending out both Acceptance and Rejection emails!

Q: Is traditional art accepted?

Traditional art is accepted as long as you are able to get a very good quality scanned version sent to us!

Q: What if i need to drop out?

If you need to drop out, that's totally understandabe, life happens! However, PLEASE let us know. Ghosting the zine server and moderators only makes it more confusing for the team!
